This #HeartMonth, explore shareable resources from CDC to help you and your peers make heart-healthy choices and reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease.  There’s work to be done across all age groups, not just among older adults!

Prevent Heart Disease

By living a healthy lifestyle, you can help keep your blood pressure, cholesterol, and blood sugar levels normal and lower your risk for heart disease and heart attack.

  • Eat more plants.  Mostly vegetables with some fruits, and eat less processed foods.
  • Maintain a healthy weight
  • Move more
  • Don't smoke and limit your alcohol intake

Building healthy habits doesn’t happen overnight, but making small changes every day can make a big difference for your heart and brain health. Eating a whole foods diet, maintaining a healthy weight, and getting enough physical activity can help you lower your risk for heart disease and stroke. Use this calendar to inspire a healthier lifestyle!

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention have a variety of evidence-based strategies to prevent heart disease.
