Treat Yourself Tuesdays

How to make quick sausage peppers and onions:

There are many ways to make sausage, you can grill it, fry it and even bake it. One of the quickest ways I’ve found to make it is to bake it. If you’re a lazy cook like me this could be your new go to. It’s also great for those nights you have a lot going on and very little time.

Sausage, Peppers and Onions

Prep time 10min: Cook time 40min:

                Ingredients:

Sausage links (Any kind you like.)

                ½ Cup of water

                1 Medium red onion

                1 Red Pepper

2 Table spoons of olive oil

                Salt/pepper

Preheat your oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit

While you’re waiting for your oven to heat up, slice your red onion and red pepper into strips. Place those into a small glass baking dish and drizzle your olive oil over them. Stir in salt and pepper to taste, along with any other seasonings you may desire. (Sometimes I throw in some red pepper flakes for some heat.)

In a separate glass baking dish pour in a half cup of water. Then add your sausage to the baking dish with water.

Once your oven is heated to 400 degrees place both baking dishes in the oven, the dish with the water and sausage should be on the top wrack for best results.

Set your timer for 20 minutes. After 20 minutes flip your sausage and give a stir to your onion and pepper mix. Place them back in the oven for another 20 minutes.

Once done take everything out of the oven and enjoy!

Try pairing this with a green salad and some jasmine rice.
