Diabetes Resources for National Diabetes Month!

November is National Diabetes Month!

Whether you have diabetes or are working to prevent developing type 2 diabetes, November is a great time to look at some resources to give you accurate and trusted information about diabetes management and prevention. Check out some of the websites below for resources to help you manage your diabetes and information to help you support those in your life who live with diabetes:

The American Diabetes Association

ADA is a non-profit organization that provides resources and education about diabetes. It’s website includes risk assessments, community group and support for people with diabetes, medication resources, recipes, exercise tips, and a blog to keep you up to date with the latest research and advocacy around diabetes.

Diabetes Self Management

This website offers information and news for people living with diabetes, both type 1 and type 2.  You'll find news and reviews of new research that relates to diabetes, recipes and specific information about treatment options and blood sugar monitoring devices.  The goal of the website is to help people manage their diabetes every day and stay up to date on diabetes treatment options and goals.

diaTribe

This organization has the goal of helping people make sense of their diabetes and make informed decisions about their everyday choices. Their website includes resources for people with newly diagnosed diabetes, people who have been living with diabetes for years, and people who take care of someone living with diabetes. They help explain relevant blood work and treatment options and work to take away some of the mystery of diabetes management.

National Diabetes Prevention Program

If you’re thinking about making healthy changes to prevent type 2 diabetes, this CDC-recognized diabetes prevention program can help you build healthy new habits that last a lifetime. When you join a lifestyle change program, you’ll learn, laugh, share stories, try new things, and build new habits— all while lowering your risk of type 2 diabetes and improving your health.  It is offered at Inspired Health Group throughout the year.  Click the link to learn more of give us a call 716-662-7008!
