What is Rabies?

Rabies is a deadly disease caused by a virus that attacks the nervous system.  Once the outward signs of the disease appear, rabies is nearly always fatal.  Getting your pet vaccinated for rabies is one way to help prevent the spread of rabies and keep you and your family safe.

Free Rabies Vaccination Clinics for Cats, Dogs & Ferrets 

  • Register here for: Saturday, September 9, 2023 from 9:00 am - 1:00 pm at 3359 Broadway, Cheektowaga, NY 14227
  • Register here for: Saturday, September 16, 2023 from 9:00 am - 1:00 pm at Buffalo Public School #84, 462 Grider St, Buffalo, NY 14215

Things to know before coming to our rabies vaccination clinics:

  • This is drive-thru style clinic.
  • Dogs, cats and ferrets 3 months of age and older are eligible for this clinic.
  • Make sure pets are in a carrier or have on a collar and short leash. Do not use retractable or extended leashes.
  • Put contact info on your pet's collar and carrier. Also, consider having your pet micro-chipped. Talk to your vet about this.
  • Up to three pets will be accepted per appointment.
  • Wear a mask.
  • Appropriately restrain pets in a carrier or collar and short leash; no retractable or extended leashes.
  • Bring proof of pet's vaccination in order to receive a three-year vaccination certificate, otherwise a one-year certificate will be given.
  • Please contact your veterinarian for vaccination information and for any questions you have regarding your pets.
