Beginning May 19, New York State will adopt the CDC’s Interim Public Health Recommendations for Fully Vaccinated People for most business and public settings.

NYS Adopts New CDC Mask & Social Distancing Guidance

We are encouraged by the science and the new CDC mask & social distancing recommendations.  At this time, Inspired Health Group will continue to follow New York State guidelines that require everyone to mask up at our family practice for the safety of our staff, patients, and visitors.

The new CDC recommendations that allow vaccinated individuals to put down their masks in many settings do not apply in healthcare settings like Inspired Health Group. We are committed to protecting our most vulnerable patients, and we appreciate everyone’s continued cooperation with these important public health protocols.

We remain confident and hopeful that the continued rollout of the vaccines and growing data about their impact will keep us moving forward toward resuming many pre-pandemic aspects of life.

Update from NYS:

  • Effective May 19, most business capacities—which are currently based upon percentage of maximum occupancy—will be removed. Businesses will only be limited by the space available for patrons or parties of patrons to maintain the required social distance of 6 feet. Find more information on the easing of pandemic restrictions.

  • The COVID-19 Vaccine Tracker Dashboard updates New Yorkers on the distribution of the vaccine including the number of doses received by the state, a breakdown of first or second doses, and the number of persons vaccinated with the first and second doses in each region.

  • In accordance with the CDC’s new guidance on mask use, fully vaccinated people no longer need to wear masks outdoors, except in certain crowded settings and venues. Find detailed guidance on mask use.

  • The Open Enrollment Period for uninsured New Yorkers has been extended through December 31, 2021. New Yorkers can apply for coverage through NY State of Health or directly through insurers.

  • If you have been on quarantine due to contact with someone known to have COVID-19:
    • a negative test does NOT release you from quarantine.
    • It is essential to wait 10 days full days to make sure that no infection appears, even if you have no symptoms, before being released from quarantine.
    • Quarantine should last 10 days from the last exposure to a person with known COVID-19.
    • In addition, you should continue to monitor yourself for any signs or symptoms of COVID-19 for up to 14 days after that last exposure.
    • If you have any questions about your period of quarantine, please call your Local Health Department.

  • Health care workers can text NYFRONTLINE to 741-741 to access 24/7 emotional support services.

  • Any New Yorker can call the COVID-19 Emotional Support Hotline at 1-844-863-9314 for mental health counseling.
