New Patient Announcement for Newborn to 12 Year Old
Beginning January 1, 2025, our practice is no longer accepting patients ages newborn to 12 years old.
Policy Change for New Patients ages Newborn - 12 Year Old:
There continues to be many changes and advancements in health care for young children and we now feel that pediatric medical practices are better positioned and equipped in staying current and proficient with these frequent changes and advances in pediatric care. Because of this, leadership has decided to no longer accept new patients from the ages of newborn to 12 years of age to join our practice as of January 01, 2025. There may be circumstances that warrant an exception to this.
We are offering these recommendations of pediatric practices that we understand are accepting new patients:
How we Came to our Decision:
As many of you know, Dr. Jennifer Erickson and Dr. Robert Erickson, founded Inspired Health Group (IHG) in 2001 as a true family practice, caring for patients of all ages. As their practice grew, so did their family, and they now have the pleasure of working alongside their children, Dr. David Erickson, MD, and Betsy Mikac, FNP-C. IHG’s ambition "to care for the whole person including body, mind, and spirit" is unwavering. The practice continues to adapt and evolve with our compassionate and dedicated care team.
Our 20+ year evolution includes offering innovative care treatment options, such as genetic testing, biometric screening, cancer detection, medical weight-loss, dietary therapy, counseling, diabetic education and more on the horizon. We believe that offering state-of-the-art care options provides our patients with the highest quality of care and inspires our team to continue to advance and stay informed of the latest medical advancements. However, with the growing demands and advancements in healthcare we feel that our organization is best positioned to serve you by not expanding our pediatric population earlier than the age of 12.
Through careful consideration, Inspired Health Group has decided to no longer accept new patients from the ages of newborn to12 years of age to join our practice as of January 01, 2025. Patients less than 12 years of age that are already established with IHG, may continue to receive care from our Team with no interruptions. In the event that your family is growing and you wish to maintain your children's care status within our practice as well as your newborn, we would be happy to discuss this with you. We recognize that this news may come as a disappointment to some families, and we are happy to provide the recommendations of pediatric practices in WNY that accept patients who are in this age range.
Our team of board-certified physicians, highly trained; nurse practitioners, physician assistants, registered nurses, registered dietitian nutritionists, and patient services team will dutifully continue to care for our current patients of all ages during this change. Again, we apologize for the strain this may unexpectedly put on some families hoping to establish their child as a new patient here at Inspired Health Group.
