What is a Medical Spa?
Medical spas are a hybrid between the traditional day spa and a medical clinic. They have been growing in popularity in recent years with people from all walks of life. The offerings at medical spa differ from a traditional spa with more specialized treatments that are non-surgical cosmetic treatments offered by medical personnel.
Examples of Medical Spa services:
We all may have heard of medical spa services such as the injectable, Botox, laser hair removal, and chemical peels, but other services include:
- Injectables and Dermal Fillers: Botox, dermal fillers, and other injectable treatments to reduce wrinkles, lines, and restore facial volume. Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) to help promote healing injuries, hair loss, and osteoarthritis.
- Hormone Therapy: Biological hormone replacement therapy
- Skin Rejuvenation: Chemical peels, microdermabrasion, and laser treatments to improve skin tone, texture, and pigmentation.

IHG Provider's Recent certifications:
Dr Dave’s interest in medical spa services recently led him to become certified in Aesthetic Medical Educators Training (AMET), Allergan Medical Institute (AMI) with Advanced Trainer, and he became a member of the American Med Spa Association (AMSPA). These new certifications will allow Dr Dave to offer patients medical spa services in the future.

Dr. David Erickson is a Board-Certified Family Practitioner and a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians. Dr. Dave graduated from St. Bonaventure University with a BS in science in 2013. He then graduated from St. George's University School of Medicine in 2018 and completed his family medicine residency in 2021 at the University of Buffalo. Son of IHG founders, Dr. Robert and Dr. Jennifer Erickson, David officially joined IHG in 2021.
