What to do before your next Physical or Annual Wellness Visit
Before your visit:
- Get bloodwork done
- If you are aged 21+, your care provider may want to review bloodwork results during your annual visit or physical appointment. Completing your bloodwork one week prior to your appointment ensures your provider will have your results and you can both spend time reviewing your results during your appointment. This allows for you to speak one-on-one about your results, ask questions, and discuss any possible next steps. If you no longer have your script, or want to request one prior to your appointment, you can message your care team in your patient portal or call our office during regular business hours.
- Compile Medical Information
- Medications/supplements: List all prescriptions, OTC drugs, vitamins, and supplements (including dosage) or bring the bottles.
- Immunizations: Your provider will want to know what immunizations you may have received since your last visit at another facility and when you received them. This may include an annual flu shot.
- History: Medical, surgical, family (heart disease, cancer), and social history that may have changed since your last visit.
- Create a list of questions & concerns: Note any new symptoms, problems (sleep, memory, pain), or lifestyle changes (stress, diet, exercise)
- Check insurance
- If your insurance has changed since you last visited, you can confirm coverage for your visit and any possible follow-up tests.
